A prepaid debit card looks like a credit card and acts like a credit card but when you use it, you are spending your own money – rather than “borrowing” money from the bank.

You can load your own money onto the card by setting up free direct deposit of your paycheck or benefit check. For a small fee, you can also load cash onto the card at retail stores.

Get cash back for FREE when you make purchases at participating stores – like most grocery stores. In a pinch, you can pay a fee and get cash from an automated teller machine (ATM).

You can use the card to inexpensively send money to family or friends around world.

You need only one form of government ID (from any country) to get the card.
You can re-use the card by setting up direct deposit of your paycheck, benefit payments, or even tax refunds. You can also load cash to the card as many times as you like.
Your money will stay on your card until you need it. You don’t need to carry around cash.
The CFR Card costs $2.95 per month to maintain unless there is a $0 balance. If there is no money on the card for more than 90 days, your account may be closed.
